VTOL TAILSITTER TRANSTION FW:

  • PID Tuning requires FW tuning:
    However:-
  1. When switching to FW (before or after arming) the pitch display does not switch to horizon in FW (plane) flight, when airframe is tilted into plane flight;
  2. How to pre-tune in FW mode, before using transition to FW.
  3. Runway Takeoff and /or landing is possible, however horizon error 1 above?

That sounds off. Could you share a log file of a bench test? To check how you set it up?

How to pre-tune in FW mode, before using transition to FW.

I usually start with the default gains and then tune once it has done the first meters in fixed-wing mode. Make sure to tune the hover controller very well before transitioning to always have a safe exit of fixed-wing mode.

Autonomous takeoff and landing on runway I think is not possible with a vehicle in the vtol category I think, but manual ones are possible ofc.
