I am working on a VTOL. 3 motors. Front 2 tilting. Rear one at the center (behind fuselage) is fixed (upwards for VTOL flight, shuts off after takeoff) . Aileron on each each. I have an inverted U tail. So 2 rudders , and and 1 elevator. I am using the Pixhawk 6X, on a mini baseboard. I selected the Generic Tiltrotor VTOL airframe. I have tested my servos using a tester and they work fine. I want to now test them after connecting to the Pixhawk from QGC. I am unable to get any output from the servo at all. Here is my setup: Pixhawk is connected to the laptop using a USBC cable. The PWM module is connected to the I/O PWM OUT. The servo is connected to channel 1 on the PWM module. Initially, when this didnt run, I thought the PWM port is not getting enough power just from the USB cable. So i connected a battery (7.2V) through the power module into the JST port in the pixhawk. I am still unable to get any output. Am I missing something?
You need to power your servo separately? Did you scope/measure the PWM output to verify the signal?
Powering the servos separately worked. Really dumb mistake. Thank you!
