VTOL - How to test FW surfaces on the field AND FC control

Hi, I’ve test all the actuators on my workshop removing the propellers ans simulating a transition to FW in stabilized mode. So I was able to verify that FC is outputting right commands to level the plane.
Now I would like to double check that on the field, as a pre-flight check.

Is there a way to test control surface in the pre-flight check phase?

Hi All. We have a project using the Generic VTOL airframe right now. However it’s a bit tricky when we want to test the control surface on the ground. Right now what we need to do is ether remove the propeller, or set the maximum PWM value for the motors very low, then arm the vehicle on the ground and put it into the trans_FW mode. Is there a way to test the control surface easier? For sure in the assembling phase we can do this several times to make sure all the servos are working correctly.…

Following that post I can check RC commands to the FC and actuators. But what about FC controllers to actuators? Is there a way to double check that FC will try to stabilize the planes once in FW mode?

Hi @Leonardo_Garberoglio, set COM_PREARM_MODE value to 2 (Always ON) and once your FC boots flick the transition switch to FW. Now your fixed wing control surfaces will be active. You can verify the direction movement through your transmitter and manually change the aircraft attitude to check whether corrections by the FC is correct or not.
