Raspberry pi OS and Mavros compatibility with PX4

A question to the developers (and other with the knowledge):
your documentation states that PX4 is compatible with raspberry Pi, JESSIE OS and with MAVROS indigo.

Are you then not compatible with other raspberry pi OS or ubuntu? furthermore
other ros installations such as melodic or kinetic?
