I am using 6 U7 V2 490 KV motors and Alpha 60 Amp 4-6S ESCs. When I perform calibration on QGroundControl, it says “calibration complete,” but sometimes 4 motors run properly while the other 2 struggle to start and fail to work. Additionally, these two motors keep changing; for example, the 1st and 2nd motors may cause issues initially, but next time, the 3rd and 6th motors may have problems. These motors seem to be stuck between two magnets, as if they are trying to spin but can’t. When I try manual ESC calibration, if I move the throttle stick to the maximum position, it continuously beeps (“beep beep beep”) indefinitely. When I lower the throttle stick, it beeps a few times (“beep beep beep”) and stops, but this doesn’t seem like the normal calibration sound. Do you have any suggestions on this issue? Could the motors and ESCs be incompatible, even though both are from T-Motor? I’d appreciate any assistance you can provide. https://review.px4.io/plot_app?log=47d981bf-be16-48bd-bb1e-7fcb68ed039a
The motors seem to be working, but at least two of them aren’t spinning, and sometimes even three don’t spin. They try to spin but stop when they can’t. Even when I throttle up and release, they still don’t work.
Check the min and max of all motors after ESC calibration. It could be that, for some motors, PWM Min is not 1100. so check the min when they start rotating and max when further increase in PWM value, does not increase the rpm. this can be performed by ‘actuator test.’ Make sure, you have motor numbering and rotation same as the PX4 airframe.
Hi @Hasan_Kilic
On the log page, you should check the actuator control and motor output plots. You will see that even if you give %100 thrust, your motor outputs can be different, it may depend on your mode and drones situation or sth different when you are giving manuel output from qground.
What I suggest to you is:
1-Be sure that all of your escs are calibrated on same condition, you can use manuel calibration for this. For the sounds you have mentioned, you need to firstly read esc datasheet different beeps sounds put the esc on different mode, you need to wait the sound which is allocated for calibration, after that you give full throttle then min throttle, then wait for approval sound which also should be stated on datasheet.
2-After making calibration of all escs, then manually give power to all motors one by one, and you should see almost exact rpm for same throttle level.
3-On stabilized mode if you arm the drone and some motors still don’t spin, maybe your drone is tilted or sth. controller trying to give more throttle to some motors to make the drone level. Have this on your mind.
If you have any problem on the way feel free to ask.
best luck
Hello, thank you for your assistance. When I contacted T-Motor, I found out what the issue was. Unfortunately, the Alpha series ESCs are not compatible with the U7 V2 490 KV motor. When I spoke with T-Motor, they told me that I need to use Flame series ESCs. They mentioned that 4S-6S or 6S-12S Flame ESCs are compatible.
