Flight mode binding qgroundcontrol

I am using my 2nd GCS as my first one has died. Using the same drone, with the same transmitter. I thought it was strange that when I installed qgroundcontrol on my new machine, my transmitter did not need to be calibrated or re-binded with the software. Everything worked as the first machine did, except I am unable to bind my flight modes. On my first machine, I had a three way toggle switch that would jump to 3 different flight modes. I was able to choose which flight mode corresponded to each position of the switch.

On my new machine, I am unable to click on the drop down menus for the flight modes. My toggle switch still works, i am able to see on QGC display when I am manipulating the switch and the software verifies it moves to each position. I am unable to actually select a flight mode for those positions on the switch. I’m not sure if I have missed something during set up or if it’s a bug? I have screenshots of what I am referring to in QGC.

you can always change the flight modes with the parameters, i.e., COM_FLTMODE1.

When you toggle the switch, does the mode changes on the main screen of QGC (on top left corner). If yes, then your switch is working fine. May be re-install the firmware, or recalibrate. This might solve your problem.

The the problem is that this IS a reinstall of the firmware. I have already recalibrated as well. I know the switch works fine, but it only toggles between hold and manual mode. Prior to this I had 3 modes for each of the positions of the switch. I don’t know what you mean by COM_Flight1. I have seen this in the forum elsewhere but I am unable to actually find this setting anywhere in QGC.

Seems like, you are using Linux, if you have access to windows system, try this parameter there. I have PX4 1.14 version on Pixhawk 6C and QCG on windows and the parameter ‘COM_FLTMODE1’ is available for me.

There are two possibilities of you seeing only two modes, 1) only two modes are assigned out of total 6 possible modes, 2) same mode is assign to two different PWM values of toggle switch, thus the toggle switch is working but you see only two modes.
