Are you using MAIN or AUX pins for driving dshot? DSHOT should be used on AUX pins.

To add to @Dr.Gadget , bidir dshot needs to be enabled in the vehicle parameters as well using theDSHOT_BIDIR_EN parameter.

As I mentioned - set DSHOT_BIDIR_EN to enable.

What PX4 version are you running?

You mentioned custom H7 build - does it follow any Pixhawk standard? FMUx?
Is bdshot compiled into your firmware?
