Hi Everyone,
I need some guidance regarding an issue I’m experiencing with my Pixhawk 6X flight controller. Here’s the situation:
Setup and Initial Condition:
- I assembled a drone and everything was working perfectly: the LED, motors, and other components were functional.
- I modified the Pixhawk 6X A2V board by re-soldering it from 3V to 5V. I’m not entirely sure if this modification was necessary, and I’d like confirmation if it’s needed.
What Happened:
- Recently, I decided to upgrade from the M10 standard GPS to an HRTK GPS module.
- I removed the Pixhawk 6X from the drone for compass calibration and replaced the GPS.
- After calibrating the compass, I reconnected all the pins, ensuring I plugged everything back where it belonged. However, when I powered up the drone:
- The motors didn’t receive a signal.
- The LED also stopped working.
My Mistake:
While reconnecting everything, I accidentally plugged the 5V pin that I used to power the LED into a signal pin instead of the power pin. I realized this mistake after powering up the drone, and as soon as I noticed, I disconnected the power. I then corrected the connection and tried again, but now:
- The LED won’t power up.
- The motors still don’t seem to receive a signal.
Questions:
- Did I accidentally burn out my Pixhawk board due to the incorrect pin connection?
- If the board isn’t damaged, what could be the reason for the motors not receiving a signal?
- Is there a way to test the board to verify its condition or troubleshoot this issue?
- Regarding the initial re-soldering from 3V to 5V: was this modification necessary in the first place, and could it have contributed to the issue?
Any advice on how to diagnose or fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
