Cube+ IB -- any differences in image required? (SOLVED)

Solved - I’ve since been told this Cube actually has changes to the internal architecture and is not supported by PX4 yet.

I’ve been working with the Orange Cube+ and successfully making FW for it. Someone handed me an Orange Cube+ IB and it seems like TELEM1 and TELEM2 don’t work. I.e. everything works on the Cube+, swap the same FW, parameters, equipment and wiring harness to the IB and it doesn’t recognize anything on TELEM1 or 2. Swap the carrier board and the problem stays with the cube. This happens with the two IBs I was handed.

Any ideas??

What’s IB? As far as I’m aware CubeOrange+ should work, and it has support for the different variants, as of PX4 v1.15:

Well, no. The change notes are not accurate. PX4 does need an update to support this. Confirmed this with people working directly with Cubepilot. Ardupilot does support the IB.

Ok, let me sync with the CubePilot team then and check. I’m working with the guys and responsible for PX4 support for CubePilot. I’ll let you know when I know more.

I can confirm what I was trying to say earlier:

No, IB is just different foam
no difference in electronics or software

So, PX4 should support CubeOrange+ (IB) just fine.

I really think this is not true. I have an Orange Cube+ on a mini carrier board - serial port works. I put an Orange Cube IB onto the same board, use a scope to watch the signals going in, serial port does not work. Try another Cube IB, same thing. Put the Cube+ back on the carrier board, serial port works. Something is different.
Again, I didn’t talk to Cubepilot directly, but spoke with someone who personally knows them, asked them while we were going through this debug and they say it is not yet supported in PX4. There is a HW change.
