Collision Prevention

Hello, We have been getting a few requests to have our UAV “auto-yaw” to prevent collision with obstacles. For example, let’s say we have a curved hallway, and our operator wants to fly straight down it. The operator should just move the stick forward and the drone will follow the wall around [image] We were thinking of doing this on the PX4 side. Has anyone thought to do this before, and if so are there any algorithms/research we can reference to implement this?

Message Signing In PX4

Good afternoon, Is it a goal to add MAVLink2 message signing to PX4? I notice all past PRs related to it have not been merged. I was wondering if it has ever been implemented in any way in PX4 and/or QGC. I am asking, because I would like a way to increase the security of my MAVLink communication between the GCS and UAV. I notice these two PRs here on both QGC and PX4 related to it. The QGC one is abandoned and the PX4 one has been up since 2021. Are there other methods to secure a flight…

what is your source of observation? and doesnt avoidance pkg already doing this now?

we were testing this inhouse. the drone stops, but it does not adjust its position to try and move around. I understand that there is an obstacle avoidance package in PX4: Obstacle Avoidance | PX4 User Guide (v1.13)

However, this is only for Mission and offboard mode. There is nothing for position mode. Let’s say, if you wanted to fly straight down a hallway without crashing into the walls
