Linux build - 64 bit or 32 bit Linux

Hi,
My intention is to modify the PX4 firmware for a custom aircraft. Which will involve SITL and HIL testing.
What OS would you recommend ? Ubuntu LTS v.16 or 14. 64 bit or 32 bit?

Ubuntu 16.04 works great, is LTS and you should always use 64 bit these days (32 bit processors really don’t exist anymore for almost a decade).
