Clipping Issue in Flight Logs: IMU Vibration Dampening and Anomalous acc2 Behavior

Hello everyone,

I’m new to drone building and recently encountered a clipping issue in my flight logs while assembling a custom drone. From forum discussions, I understand this problem is often linked to the vibration isolation design of IMUs. However, my case is puzzling:

  • I’m using three IMUs (acc0, acc1, acc2).
  • Vibration metrics show that acc2 has significantly lower vibration levels compared to acc0 and acc1.
  • Despite this, only acc2 triggers the clipping issue.

Key Question:
Does diagnosing clipping issues require additional factors beyond vibration metrics (e.g., sensor calibration, data sampling rates, or IMU placement)? Or could this indicate a hardware-specific anomaly in acc2?

Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!
