Using Pixhawk as Data Logger

I am doing a university project where I’m designing a new type of UAV, as part of this I need to complete a flight test and collect some basic data. I’ve known of Pixhawk to be used for this purpose before, but I have exactly zero experience using any sort of UAV/drone electronics.

It’s within the budget to obtain a PX4 or other similarly priced Pixhawk autopilot, but before I do, I am interested in knowing how much extra knowledge I will have to teach myself about autopilot systems or if it’s a simple process for a complete beginner.

Any help or comments are appreciated.

Hi @Fynnrouse I suggest you get started by learning the basic concepts, and the components needed to run a drone. Luckily our documentation covers all of those, and more. Feel free to ask questions as you have them.
