Quad dips in mission mode using 3D ESC's causing crash

We ordered the wrong XROTER 40 amp ESC’s and got the 3D version. We set the minimum main PWM out to 1540 to attempt to use them as traditional ESC’s. This appeared to work as the quad was able to take off and fly in stabilized mode. After verifying that it was able to fly and was relatively stable we loaded a mission. The quad took off in Stabilized and then was flipped into Mission at about 5 meters. This caused a sudden dip in altitude that caused it to hit the ground.

The quad is a 650 frame with 17.5 props at 6s. I have attached 2 logs, one fatal and one with a big dip.

I am wondering if this was caused by trying to get these 3D ESC’s to work or something different-thanks for any advice.

Let me know if I need to put the logs in a different format
