License for the dataset

What is the license of the public dataset that can be found in Flight Review? Is it the license applied to flight_review code (i.e. GitHub - PX4/flight_review: web application for flight log analysis & review)?

Thanks!

Hi again, I tried to attend the DevCall today using the following link (Jitsi Meet) to see if someone could answer this question but I was not admitted to the meeting. Could you please tell me the best way to answer the license question?

Good question.
This has not come up so far. I tend towards CC-BY as that’s the matching license to BSD-3.

@rroche what do you think?

CC-BY is likeley the better option!

Curious where did you find the link to Jitsi? its been a few years since we moved to discord

Thanks for your replies. @rroche I searched for the Jitsi link and I could not find it again, sorry.

Hi, it is possible to get the dump of the database with the flight metadata used for Flight Review? We are not interested in the ULOG files for now. We just need to understand the dataset more and to do that we need to write our own queries.

We can’t do that. However, you can see the source code and figure out how to extract the metadata from the logs yourself. GitHub - PX4/flight_review: web application for flight log analysis & review

Thank you for your quick reply. :slight_smile: We should be able to extract the metadata ourselves.

We used a copy of the entire public dataset for some high-level assessment, once you ingest that, extracting what you’re looking for your model should be a quick task. AKA I’d follow @rroche advise. IIRC it’s all SQL (but obviously the logs are just ulogs).
