Drop Mission

Hello, I am new to pixhawk and need some help planning the mission for a competition. It will be dropped from an RC aircraft aft about 300ft and will need to recognize that it has been dropped so that it can start a stabilized flight before turning 180 degrees and landing in a specific zone. I know I can set the location for landing but how would I go about setting up the start of the mission? I am allowed to have the pixhawk powered before the main plane takes off.
