Airsim SITL

Hey all,

Has anyone got Airsim working?
I have installed it all (with Unreal) on Ubuntu, however i cant get the UDP to connect.

I followed everything here: https://github.com/Microsoft/AirSim/blob/master/docs/px4_sitl.md
I then open “Blocks” (in airsim package) in UE4Editor, but the UDP just doesnt connect.
I redirected the settings.json to the file in my airsim package (instead of reading the file on the web), but doesn’t work either way.

I also cant fly the quad using the keyboard (pgup, pgdown, wasd, etc).

Any help would be appreciated.
I honestly have no idea what is going on.

Thanks,
CaptainJL

Hi there,
I am having exactly the same issue. For the quad I don’t think you can control it with the keyboard, the same way you can do with the car. You can however use an xbox controller or a more advanced RC (See the doc).
If you have been able to get PX4 to connect with the unreal Editor, please let me know.
Thanks.

I have no issue connecting to the Blocks environment with PX4 via UDP. Make sure you run PX4 v1.8.2. As that’s the only one documented with SITL.

But I couldn’t control the drone with USB Joystick. I’m using Taranis X9D+ 2019, and already configured everything that I can think of.
