Simulation not responding to "Commander Takeoff" after following Linux Toolchain setup video tutorial

Trying to use px4 simulator on Ubuntu 20.04. Just finished setting up toolchain via terminal commands. After building PX4, I tried “commander takeoff” as per the video’s instructions but the drone in the simulation window didn’t react. Among all the “INFO” outputs is the yellow warning line “WARN [commander] Failsafe enabled: no datalink.” I’ve tried doing all this on Windows 10 and ran into the same problem.

@jskarda No datalink failsafe is triggered when you don’t have QGroundcontrol running

This is an expected behavior, but maybe something that was introduced after the video tutorial
