PX4 supporting wheel motor encoder input like Ardurover?

Are there plans to integrate wheel or motor encoders into the PX4 firmware as another form of navigation enhancement?

I would also like to see geared motor encoder support (standard robotics type like https://www.servocity.com/165-rpm-hd-premium-planetary-gear-motor-w-encoder ). Under ardupilot rover supports using wheel encoders for nav enhancment also you can do GPS-less navigation when the wheel encoders are set up properly.
