Hang Glider Flight Data

Hi all,

I want to collect flight data while flying a hang glider. This is different from the usual RC uses of a Pixhawk. Can I simply attach the PX4 to my glider and use it to collect positional data in flight? It wouldn’t be hooked up to a receiver / transmitter or any servos, motors, etc. Just a battery and an airspeed sensor.

Hi there!

That does indeed work. However:

  • If you want absolute positional data, you will need a GPS unit.
  • Make sure you are actually logging: Enable logging from boot OR manually start the logger OR arm the pixhawk.

I recommend testing this once before you actually go into the air.
