GPS spoofing with jMAVsim / QGroundControl

I’m trying to introduce spoofed GPS signals to a drone (SITL) for research purposes. I’ve found a few forum posts on it, but nothing goes into detail. Would it be possible to change the GPS-lat and GPS-lon values in PX4-Autopilot/src/examples/fake_gps and have it be spoofed that way?

If not, is there a better way to do it using a program / software? I’m new to this so not sure where to start.
