DIY FPV drone with Kakute and ROS2 uXRCE-DDS?

Hi,

I am planning to buy a Kakute flight controller for an FPV drone installed on a QAV-PRO Nano Whoop 2" Cinequads chassis, for example.

  1. Does ROS2 uXRCE-DDS work well with Kakute flight controllers? Which version?

  2. I need this for research and educational purposes, so I have a limited budget (that’s why I am not using Pixhawk 6X, which I have tested).

  3. I will also use VIO (Vicon or RealSense) for indoor navigation.

Is this my best choice, or can anyone recommend other configurations?
