Beaglebone blue build hints?



I’ve been trying to figure out the Beaglebone Blue as a flight controller but I don’t understand how the power setup should work.
I got this ESC:

If I understand correctly the LiPo port on the beaglebone is for charging the lipo and not powering? Should the BBBlue act as a power distribution and ESC somehow powered from it(I am having trouble picturing the small JST-SH power connector on the board connected to the beefy power wires from the ESC)

Sorry for being a total noob. Maybe this is pretty obvious to a seasoned builder.
