Updates from Project

Every project answers the following questions in 5min max:

  • What did you work last week?
  • What are you working on this week?

Dronecode SDK

  • last week webinar work updating docs and fixing bugs
  • this week going back to normal, autogenerating code, fixing bugs
  • getting the calibration plugin out for swift
  • updating the readmes

Avoidance

  • Fixes to ground interaction on avoidance
  • This week on-going work on pull requests
  • There were some discussions on #MAVLink, on how the status interface should look, the plan is something very minimal as a first step, a complete message set later

Flight Testing

  • Last week report available on forums
  • This week we have very strong winds in Tijuana, we are grounded
  • For this reason PR testing is delayed until further notice.
  • UAVCAN Vehicle flips when taking off, motors seem to be well configured, we’ll submit a new issue.
  • DeltaQuad finally up in the air with 4G/LTE VPN telemetry, no RC backup, ground-station

QGC

  • NA

PX4

  • Last week there were some multicopter improvements (eg: trajectory smoothing)
  • Last week also state control refactor
  • There’s a good ci testing discussion using the DronecodeSDK to drive more CI tests, thanks to Julian Oes work
  • Hoping to pickup the driver architecture work

MAVLink

  • No real update from last week
  • Team on this call confirmed assistance to MAVLink call
  • Team noted we should do our best effort to sync with the Ardupilot team attending the MAVLink calls regularly

Messaging

  • px4_ros_com open sourced and working on fixing issues on Roadmap
  • The team is currently writing examples for their use-case
  • Project tracking on Github

Open Session

Translation work for QGC

  • QGC translation locale deals with 90% of UI
  • 10% remaining split between internal QGC and firmware related
  • we need to deal with the remaining 10% step by step.
  • Localized metadata on .px4 package strategy discussion

Feedback from strings-translated QGC in china: Most people is satisfied about chinese translation, seems there is no typo so far, new version is also very friendly for new users from china. But old users is used to English version, especially in production environment, they asked a language swich option.
