Can QGC Receive RTCM corrections from any GNSS Receiver?

Hi QGC Forum:

First time posting.

I have an Emlid Reach RS2 streaming RTCM3 messages to COMM6 on my laptop running QGroundControl. Can I get QGC to use this stream for the RTK correction injection?

I am successful getting this to work with Mission Planner 1.3.81 which allows me to specify the COMM port.

I am working with a Watts Innovation Prism Lite running Ardupilot 4.3.6.25.

We are currently testing Mission Planner, QGroundControl, and UgCS to learn as much as we can about each GCS and when to use which GCS.

Thank you,

Joe from Denver, CO

Hi @jd7adams , did you have any luck on this?
In my experience QGC can receive RTCM3 corrections only via USB but with supported receivers. I’ve managed to use the Holybro Ublox F9P receiver, but not the Emlid Reach RS2+.
I’ve also tested streaming corrections via TCP Client but without luck.
Only Mission planner is working with TCP RTCM3 streaming.

Hey @stefano_moro! Do you find any solution to integrate Reach RS2 with QGC? I’m trying to use RS2 as RTK base to send correction to Holybro f9P Helical GPS connected to Pixhawk via QGC. Ideally RS2 is connected to laptop running QGC via USB while Pixhawk is connected to a Jetson computer that uses mavlink-router to bridge communication over wi-fi. Any help will be appreciated, thank you!

Hi @ndr222 ,
I didn’t have luck with QGC. I had to switch to Mission Planner for the ground station. With the TCP Server on the RS2 I can stream corrections to Ground Station and then rely to the drone controller over WiFi.
I’ve read there is the option of serial connection for RS2 but didn’t manage to make it work with QGC.
Hope it can help.
