I’m experiencing an issue with my VTOL during vertical takeoff. Instead of lifting off vertically in a stable manner, the vehicle tilts significantly and then flips upside down, usually due to roll or pitch instability.
So far, I’ve checked the following:
- Motor directions and configurations
- Inertia parameters in the model
- Center of mass alignment
None of these changes resolved the issue. I also tried tuning the PID gains in QGroundControl, but the behavior persists. The VTOL still fails to maintain stability during takeoff and flips soon after liftoff.
Any guidance on what else I should look into or suggestions on PID tuning strategies for this type of behavior would be appreciated.
