PX4 MAV_x params do not have any effect

Hi, I am trying to understand on the MAV_2_CONFIG to be used to communicate with QGC. I am using pixhawk 6x flight controller with qgc version 4.3 and px4 version 1.15.4. I found that I can set it to ethernet. I further modified the remote port and network port. Upon enabling MAV_2_CONFIG to ethernet I can see a new mavlink instance getting created with those ports.

However, they are not connecting to GCS via UDP. In the entire firmware I did not find a place where this parameter is actually getting used by any module. Are these parameters still working?
