Orb published but not triggering an update

Flight controller - SD flight

I created a custom message for a UART sensor (1Hz externally triggered) on the SD Flight and have run into a bug where every publish is not triggering an update on the subscribed side. I’m seeing about a 5% drop rate, 1 of 20 published is not triggering an update. Any suggestions on how to debug this issue?
