Observing your sUAS during a planned mission

Assuming an internet connection is available When flying a planned mission can QGroundControl display real time position to a map on your QGroundControl Screen?
I ask because I found a single channel ham transmitter of incredibly small size, just over 7 grams. There will be a little more weight for an arduino control board. With the electronics, etc I think it will come in somewhere below the 2500 gram max take off weight.
I am building the Eachine / Atomrc Killer Whale as a fixed wing survey / mapping sUAS. If I can’t watch the position of my plane in QGroundControl I can use the above radio transmitter and APRS to provide this functionality.
