LAUNCH is set at 15 meter ! Cannot be deleted or lowered!

Hello
On QGC v5.0.8 , while planning a mission, LAUNCH is set default to 15 meters altitude and cannot be adjusted to a lower value or deleted while TAKEOFF can be adjusted to as lower values !! Is this correct …

The QGroundControl docs list a setting called “Default Mission Altitude” under the General settings, in the Plan View section. They describe it as the default altitude used for the Mission Start Panel, and hence for the first waypoint. I haven’t confirmed that this is what sets your 15 m, and the page I read is the master version of the docs, not necessarily the one for v5.0.8, so please treat it as something to check. If you find that option in your General settings, change it and see whether the launch altitude follows.

Unfortunately I tried but no change …However Somehow i did a delete and placed an existing mission in the QGC and somehow i am able to adjust the launch below 15 meters !! i still can’t figure out how I did it..:slightly_smiling_face:

That difference between a newly created mission and a loaded existing mission is interesting.

Since changing Default Mission Altitude did not affect it, I would compare the two mission files rather than treating this only as a UI setting issue.

If possible, save:

  1. a newly created mission where Launch appears fixed at 15 m, and
  2. the existing mission where you can adjust Launch below 15 m.

Then compare the .plan files, especially the mission start/takeoff items, altitude values, altitude mode/frame, and any mission-level settings.

If the same QGC version behaves differently depending on which mission is loaded, a minimal pair of .plan files could make this reproducible and help determine whether this is expected Plan View behavior or a QGC state/serialization issue.

If you can attach both .plan files here, I’d be happy to compare them.

Hello,
Let me check this part and get back…
