When executing a VTOL flight (with a tilt rotor or standard) to a planned landing (with VTOL forced), the aircraft angles off of final course, executes a transition and then flies sideways to a land in the spot designated.
I have also seen this behavior using the standard VTOL on gazebo sim.
I have seen this in 1.6.5 and 1.8. Can anyone tell me why this occurs and how to have a straight final leg to the land point?

Just a wild guess here but could it be weathervaning (WV_EN (INT32) Enable weathervane) ? In other words, it’s turning into the wind?

That’s possible. Although there was very little wind.
